If you’re reading this, you know that human beings are out of sync with themselves and the natural world. This disconnection leads to an imbalance in ourselves and our societies, and in turn this carries a devastating cost for people and the planet. You also probably know that while change is needed, structural changes and intellectual development, while useful, are only part of the solution.
At the individual and community level, we need education that supports transformative experience and provides practical skills for navigating daily life. When people and communities are confident, resilient, and empowered to act as the agents of their own lives, their unique contributions and intelligence can be actualized for the benefit of themselves and the world.
Wild Vessel is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to developing and delivering nature-based education that offers this kind of practical, vital learning. Recognizing the deep value of and need for healthier communities, we are engaged in building online and in-person connections among our members. At the heart of our work is a spirit of open inquiry reflected in ongoing research and development in disciplines like spiritual teaching and skill development, village-scale and online community building, and organization design.
My greatest take away has been learning how to embrace myself and how to set intentions for my truth. I was kind of operating on autopilot for a long time, caught between a demanding job, pursuit of my hobbies, managing a relationship and my social life, there wasn’t much room in my head or my heart to really tune in to how *I* felt and what *I* wanted.

"To be truly and vibrantly alive, some element of wildness, an absence of conditioning, constraint, and control, is necessary. When (and where) wildness ceases, the most vital and dynamic aspect of life and creation also dies.
To be wild is to refer to a world which is unconstrained, unconditioned, and uncontrolled. The wild refers to a nature which is alive and dynamic. Wildness refers to a space, an environment that has life in it, but which is not therefore civil, domesticated, or even known to the objective marketplace world. It is that place for which there is no map, and little understanding Wildness is when and where the sub-consciousness (and to some extent, the unconsciousness) rules more strongly the the conscious. Wildness has no purpose, and contains few values. Rather, the wild is defined directly as a meaningfulness of life; a desire, passion, and instinct to continue to live free (ultimate survival). To appreciate wildness is to appreciate the cauldron of life."
